APL.DE.AP of the Black Eyed Peas recently endorsed the Call to Save the Mountains of the World done at Mt. Apo, Philippines in San Mateo, Ca., U.S.A. a call that was endorsed by the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and other International leaders and luminaries. His real name is Allan Penida Lindo, a Filipino-American and member of the famous group known as the Black Eyed Peas. Picture shows APL.DE.AP holding call document which he had signed and endorsed for people to do their share in saving mountains and help address in uplifting the well being of the mountain people, - in particular, the recent victims of the tragic mountain landslide at St. Bernard, Southern Leyte that buried the town and most of its residents including school children at the middle of their classes.
Holding document with APL.DE.AP is Ryan C. Largo, HDI International Executive Director and behind him is DJ Rocky Rock known most recently for his scratching on Black Eyed Peas last album, Monkey Business who expressed desire to collaborate with the call initiative. He has won many competitions on scratching and mixing including second place at the World Vestax Extravaganza DJ Battle. In 2004 DJ Rocky Rock was instrumental in taking the Black Eyed Peas to Manila, where he performed the opening act. Rocky continues to grow his talent with the Dirty Heads, a new band who recently signed with Warner and continues his DJ life with APL.DE.AP of Black Eyed Peas, as well as his continued work with Jeepney Music. DJ Rocky Rock holds a tremendous respect of todays society and hopes to make an impact within the world, serving others.
Other persons on the picture are part of APL.DE.AP entourage when they visited San Mateo. Ryan Largo has become good friend with APL.DE.AP and DJ Rocky Rock who recently invited him to his birthday party at Los Angeles. The road to fame of these two Filipino-American artists who have made a name in the United States and the world is attributed to their unique style and deep concern to help people including the tragic incident at St. Bernard in Leyte, Philippines. The Call to Save the Mountains of the World is an initiative of the Human Development International and its partner organizations that has become a worldwide movement since the call was done in February 25, 2002. John Ryan Largo, HDI Founder and Chairperson in a communiqu© cited APL.DE.AP of the Black Eyed Peas and DJ Rocky Rock for their deep concern to humanity; and the preservation of the mountains. The Founder, hopes for other artists to follow and fulfill their innate obligation and responsibility to serve humanity and Mother Nature.
