Intel Corporation announced that the Classmate PC`s started to be delivered in the emerged markets. These PC`s, offered at accesible prices are based on the Intel Ceron M procesor. These are the first laptops oriented to the eductional systems in Brasil and Mexico.

Intel has a long history of working to improve education worldwide and our ongoing programs prepare teachers and students for success in the global economy.

Intel plans to start this year pilot-programs in over 25 countries like China, Chile, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Libia, Pakistan and Thailand. Intel want to deliver these laptops in several languages: english, arabic, chinese, portuguese, russian, spanish and turkish.

With students using the Classmate PC in class, a teacher can make presentations, guide students access to the Internet, deliver specific controlled content and interact individually with students and parents in giving tests or providing feedback.

Intels award-winning skoool technology for online digital learning offers a scalable, multimedia, multi-device learning solution to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics and science. Easily adaptable to local needs, it is being used in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and a number of Spanish-speaking countries.

As part of the Intel World Ahead Program, Intel will train an additional 10 million teachers over the next 5 years in developing communities on the effective use of technology in the classroom.

Intel Classmate PC is part of the Intel World Ahead Program, a program where technology, school programs and theachers ability are blend to improve the educational level in the poor countries. Intel will co-operate with these countries to develop plans that include local industries colaboration, free Internet acces in schools, training for teachers and the Intel Teach program tha help teachers to use the technology efficient in the teaching process and the creation of local teaching content.
