FastForward today launches a new website called SMSYourself.com. SMSYourself.com is set up to SMS-enable various websites, internet services and communities. The first internet service that will be SMS-enabled in this project is PayPal.com.
How does it work?
Users who sign up at SMSYourself.com can opt to receive important notifications to their cell phones for the sites, services and communities they have selected in their SMSYourself.com account.
Example
A PayPal user signs up at SMSYourself.com and opts to receive PayPal's Payment Notifications to their cell phone. After submitting their cell phone number, they need to login to their PayPal account and basically tell PayPal to send the Payment Notifications to SMSYourself.com. SMSYourself.com takes care of handling the received messages and sending the SMS to the users cell phone.

SMSYourself.com can be used without compromising the PayPal security, as it does not need your PayPal password. The user will maintain full control over the notifications send by PayPal, as they are able to change this in their PayPal account.

SMSyourself.com has a very clear statement on their site regarding your privacy. The most important thing they want you to know is that they will not use your cell phone number for anything other than sending you the messages you have requested and that they, for security reasons, will not store or safe the Payment Notification messages they will receive on your behalf. Although Payment Notifications do not contain any crucial information about your account, SMSYourself.com will process it, send a message to your cell phone and discard any information that they have received about your payment.
