The time has come where ethic does matter, ambition does matter, goal does matter. Not denying that we are in the world of full fledged hardcore professionals, but often we are just one step farther from our targets.
I have heard from many professionals, they use to keep updating themselves from communities, which pertains to their professions. They are the frequent users of Internet; they know what they want. This is all about participating in your professional community, where you have your own identity, your own thoughts, own ethics to obey and set of rules to follow. It is nothing but a virtual classroom network where numbers of student meet and share their thoughts and skill-sets. Not only of technical (IT, Telecom) professionals but also functional (HR, SCM, CRM, Medical, General Management etc.) professional communities are also in existence now-days.
There are tons of communities available on Internet; all you need is to do Google for specific subject. There are numbers of ways to gain access, depending on the type of communities, many of them is free for access and sign process is easy as well. It is generally categorized in static patterns, like in India forum is very popular. You can find communities in various forms like Blogs, Groups, Newsgroups, Forums, Feed-shows, Chats, Subjective Portals etc; even internet technologies enabled buzzing your queries and feedbacks into your email box directly. In many communities you dont need to access web site regularly, they used to provide individual emails with daily digests, subjective alerts, industry watch, and article links, case studies based on your subscriptions.
It is not only used to develop your professional career, but also helps you to keep updating yourselves about job-hunting activities, tips and tricks for your professional attitude.
